Fáilte Ireland: hospitality website design for a Dublin-led guest experience platform

Fáilte Ireland is the Irish edition of our fictional hospitality platform, with 9,000+ venues across Ireland and a head office at 14 Merrion Square, Dublin 2. It shares every template with the US edition, but reads as a Dublin company: euro pricing, Irish venues and diners, GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and a palette of paper, sage and amber taken from quiet craft and coastal calm.

Project facts

  • Client: Fáilte Hospitality Ltd, registered in Ireland (fictional)
  • Sector: Hospitality technology (restaurants, hotels, nightlife)
  • Markets: Dublin plus venues across all 26 counties
  • Services: Market localisation · Copywriting · Brand adaptation · Hospitality SaaS website design · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) · SEO foundations
  • Templates: 11 page templates shared with every Fáilte edition
  • Stack: Hand-built HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript; one strings file and one theme file per market

The brief

An Irish hospitality platform that never reads as American

The biggest risk for an Irish edition is inheriting the US one: dollars, American diners, US privacy law. Fáilte Ireland keeps British spelling but replaces every place, price, law and habit with an Irish one. The Diner Report surveys 10,000 diners across all 26 counties, the Series C press release is dated and located in Dublin, and the legal copy follows the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 rather than US state privacy rights.

Brand adaptation

The same Fáilte, with a local accent

Paper and sage carry the interface; amber brings warmth to eyebrows, numbers and hovers, and a deeper amber ink keeps text legible on light panels. Public Sans sets both headlines and body, which gives the site a plain, contemporary tone rather than the editorial serif of the US edition. The palette borrows from quiet craft and coastal calm rather than flags or shamrocks. The wordmark keeps the Guest Experience Platform descriptor.

Homepage and key journeys

The homepage opens on a sunlit cafe interior with Every guest, remembered. Frosted-glass notification cards show New booking · Table 12, Regular · 14th visit and Deposit received · €240. Proof points are restated for Ireland (9,000+ venues across Ireland, €20M revenue), and the alternating feature sections pair direct bookings, the hospitality CRM and marketing automation with Irish service moments. The most distinctive flow is the Irish Diner Report: a dark hero, a sticky chapter nav and charts that fill as you scroll, all built from the 10,000-diner survey.

Compliance, accessibility and trust

  • Privacy notice under the GDPR naming Fáilte Hospitality Ltd (registered in Ireland) as controller, with the route to the Data Protection Commission.
  • Terms of Service citing the Data Protection Act 2018 and the ePrivacy Regulations, with fees stated in euro and VAT excluded.
  • Footer with an Irish company line, CRO number and registered office at 14 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, D02 X285; no US state privacy rights.
  • Consent opt-in with Reject all as prominent as Accept all.
  • Passes automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on every page at 360, 390, 768 and 1440 px: no contrast failures, no unreachable controls, no horizontal scrolling.
  • A language switcher built from hreflang sits in the header on desktop and in the footer on phones.

One system, twelve markets

Every visible string lives in one file per market, and every colour and typeface in one theme file. This edition needed no new templates or components: a strings file, a theme, regional photography and local legal content made it a different brand experience. For a hospitality-tech company with international plans, a new market becomes a content project rather than a rebuild.

Deliverables

  • Market profile: language, formats, legal and seasonality
  • Full localised copy across 11 templates, header, footer and forms
  • Brand adaptation: palette, type pairing and logo descriptor
  • 22 regional photographs (Pexels, credited in credits.json)
  • Local legal content
  • Accessibility pass (WCAG 2.2 AA, automated) and QA at four screen widths
  • Portfolio media: stills, full-page captures, scroll video, OG image, brand board

FAQ

How is an Irish hospitality website different from a US one?

Prices are in euro, legal copy follows the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and the content speaks to Irish venues and diners rather than American ones.

Can one website design serve Ireland and the US?

Yes. Fáilte shares templates across editions; Ireland inherits British spelling and overrides everything that is genuinely Irish, from the Diner Report to the Dublin press release.

Do you design restaurant reservation systems and booking engine interfaces?

Yes. We design restaurant reservation system flows, white label booking engine UI and hospitality CRM dashboards, from guest-facing booking widgets to host-stand tools.
