Fiach Ireland: fintech website and UI/UX design for an Irish business bank

Fiach Ireland is the Irish edition of our fictional business-banking platform, run from Dublin with studios in Dublin and Cork. It shares every template with the US edition, but reads as an Irish firm: euros and SEPA transfers, current accounts and IBANs, the Deposit Guarantee Scheme and the Central Bank of Ireland, and a palette of moss, sage and brass taken from Irish coast and stone.

Project facts

  • Client: Fiach Ltd, registered in Ireland (fictional)
  • Sector: Business banking and fintech for startups
  • Markets: Ireland, with a Dublin head office and studios in Dublin and Cork
  • Services: Market localisation · Copywriting · Brand adaptation · Fintech website design · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) · SEO foundations
  • Templates: 10 page templates shared with every Fiach edition
  • Stack: Hand-built HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript; one strings file and one theme file per market

The brief

An Irish fintech site that never reads as American

The risk with an Irish edition is inheriting the US one: dollars, ACH, FDIC insurance, checking accounts. Fiach Ireland keeps British spelling and swaps every price, institution and habit for an Irish one. Founders read balances in euros with comma thousands, send SEPA transfers rather than wires, and open a current account with an IBAN and BIC. The runway calculator, pricing tiers and comparison table all reformat to EUR, and the legal copy follows the GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Deposit Guarantee Scheme.

Brand adaptation

The same Fiach, with a local accent

Moss green carries the interface and sage softens it; brass marks eyebrows, numbers and hover states, and a lighter brass takes over on dark panels so every pairing passes WCAG AA. Public Sans sets both headlines and body, which keeps the tone plain and modest rather than showy. The wing mark and the Fiach wordmark are unchanged from the US edition.

Homepage and key journeys

The hero opens on a live balance card reading €2,481,906.42 with SEPA transfer rows in euros, under One quiet place for every euro you move. Proof points are restated for Ireland (Irish startups that raised last year bank with Fiach, no monthly fees, SEPA transfer fees or minimums on Essential). The distinctive flow is the runway calculator: type cash, monthly expenses and revenue and it returns months of runway, net burn and a plain-English note, with the worked example in euros (€1.8M in cash, €155k expenses, €42k revenue, roughly 15.9 months).

Compliance, accessibility and trust

  • Privacy notice under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, naming Fiach Ltd (registered in Ireland) as controller, with the route to the Data Protection Commission.
  • Cookie notice with opt-in consent and Reject all as prominent as Accept all, under the ePrivacy Regulations.
  • Footer line: © 2026 Fiach Ltd. Registered in Ireland. Registered office: Dublin, with CRO and VAT numbers.
  • Deposit Guarantee Scheme statement: deposits spread across partner banks to extend pass-through cover, with Fiach described as a financial technology company.
  • Passes automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on every page at 360, 390, 768 and 1440 px: no contrast failures, no unreachable controls, no horizontal scrolling.
  • A language switcher built from hreflang sits in the header on desktop and in the footer on phones.

One system, twelve markets

Every visible string lives in one file per market, and every colour and typeface in one theme file. This edition needed no new templates or components: a strings file, a theme, regional photography and local legal content made it a different brand experience. For a fintech company with international plans, a new market becomes a content project rather than a rebuild.

Deliverables

  • Market profile: language, formats, legal and seasonality
  • Full localised copy across 10 templates, header, footer and forms
  • Brand adaptation: palette, type pairing and logo descriptor
  • 10 regional photographs (Pexels, credited in credits.json)
  • Local legal content
  • Accessibility pass (WCAG 2.2 AA, automated) and QA at four screen widths
  • Portfolio media: stills, full-page captures, scroll video, OG image, brand board

FAQ

How is an Irish fintech website different from a US one?

Prices are in euros with comma thousands, payments are SEPA transfers with IBAN and BIC, accounts are current accounts, and legal copy follows the GDPR, the Data Protection Commission and the Deposit Guarantee Scheme rather than the SEC and FDIC.

Can one design system serve Ireland and the US?

Yes. Fiach shares templates and about 40 components across editions; Ireland keeps British spelling and overrides currency, institutions, legal copy and design tokens from one configuration file.

Does the site work for companies that are not yet incorporated?

Yes. Founders can start an application before incorporation and finish it once their CRO number arrives, and non-Irish founders can apply if the company is registered in Ireland.
