Atithi India: hospitality website design for a guest experience platform

Atithi gives restaurants, hotels and nightlife venues across India one place for reservations, guest profiles, marketing and events. We designed and built its marketing website from the ground up: an immersive, editorial site that feels like a great dining room and converts like a SaaS product. The India edition speaks the language of Indian hospitality: lakh and crore pricing, GST, Google Maps discovery, the DPDP Act 2023 and a named Grievance Officer.

Project facts

  • Client: Atithi Hospitality Technologies Pvt Ltd (fictional)
  • Sector: Hospitality technology (restaurants, hotels, nightlife)
  • Markets: India, with Bengaluru headquarters and venues in Goa, Mumbai, Alibaug and beyond
  • Services: Market localisation · Copywriting · Brand adaptation · Hospitality SaaS website design · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) · SEO foundations
  • Templates: 11 page templates shared with every Atithi edition
  • Stack: Hand-built HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript; one strings file and one theme file per market

The brief

Built for how India dines and books

Indian operators compare platforms on value, proof and local fit. They need to know that reservations flow from Google Maps and Instagram, that guest data is handled under the DPDP Act, and that pricing is quoted in rupees plus GST. The edition rewrites the story around those habits: Indian venues and guest numbers, crore-scale funding and revenue, Indian testimonials and a research report on Indian diners. It adds a DPDP-compliant privacy policy, a Grievance Officer and terms that name the DPDP Act and GST.

Brand adaptation

The same Atithi, with a local accent

Amber carries the interface and night indigo anchors dark panels, with a deeper amber for text on light backgrounds. Poppins gives headlines a confident, contemporary feel; Mukta keeps body copy warm and legible. Both are widely used in Indian digital branding, so the site feels local without cliché. The descriptor stays hospitality technology, with the Indian entity named in the footer.

Homepage and key journeys

The homepage opens on a full-screen dining room in the middle of service, with frosted-glass notification cards showing New booking · Table 12, Regular · 14th visit and Deposit received · ₹20,000. The headline rises line by line, and the cards drift with the mouse. Below, the story is told through Indian venues: 9,000+ venues across India, a ₹180 crore revenue band, testimonials from Bengaluru and Mumbai, and a link to the India Diner Report. The most distinctive flow is the demo request: fields ask for venue type and number of locations, and the thank-you state confirms the table is set.

Compliance, accessibility and trust

  • Privacy policy under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP), naming Atithi Hospitality Technologies Pvt Ltd as Data Fiduciary, with a Grievance Officer and the Data Protection Board.
  • Terms of Service: fees in Indian rupees plus GST, compliance with the DPDP Act and DPDP Rules, and Indian entity details (Prestige Tower, MG Road, Bengaluru 560001).
  • Footer with a demo CIN and a reminder to verify details; © 2026 Atithi Hospitality Technologies Pvt Ltd. A fictional brand created for portfolio purposes.
  • Passes automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on every page at 360, 390, 768 and 1440 px: no contrast failures, no unreachable controls, no horizontal scrolling.
  • A language switcher built from hreflang sits in the header on desktop and in the footer on phones.

One system, twelve markets

Every visible string lives in one file per market, and every colour and typeface in one theme file. This edition needed no new templates or components: a strings file, a theme, regional photography and local legal content made it a different brand experience. For a hospitality-tech company with international plans, a new market becomes a content project rather than a rebuild.

Deliverables

  • Market profile: language, formats, legal and seasonality
  • Full localised copy across 11 templates, header, footer and forms
  • Brand adaptation: palette, type pairing and logo descriptor
  • 22 regional photographs (Pexels, credited in credits.json)
  • Local legal content
  • Accessibility pass (WCAG 2.2 AA, automated) and QA at four screen widths
  • Portfolio media: stills, full-page captures, scroll video, OG image, brand board

FAQ

What should a hospitality website in India include?

Reservation flows that connect to Google Maps and Instagram, pricing in rupees plus GST, Indian venue proof and testimonials, a DPDP-compliant privacy policy with a Grievance Officer, and a clear demo request path.

Can the same design serve India and other markets?

Yes. Atithi India shares every template with the US and UK editions; only content, theme and photography change. The design system keeps navigation, footer and market text in one locale file.

How do you handle pricing and taxes for Indian buyers?

B2B SaaS fees are quoted in Indian rupees plus GST, with monthly or annual billing in advance. Consumer-facing prices, where shown, are inclusive of all taxes.
