Bhumika Geo India: civil tech website and design system for Indian infrastructure

Bhumika Geo builds survey instruments, construction management software and asset platforms for the teams behind India's roads, bridges, rail and water networks. We designed its brand, website and design system: construction tech UI/UX that speaks with the precision of an engineer and the warmth of a field crew. The India edition adapts the US original for 22 states and 6 UTs, with ₹ pricing, UPI, DPDP-ready hosting and a Bengaluru HQ.

The brief

Built for how India builds infrastructure

Indian infrastructure buyers compare specifications, tolerances and proof; they shortlist by project references and expect local support in their time zone. The edition rewrites the site around those habits: prices in ₹ with GST, UPI payment, DPDP-ready hosting, Indian data centres, a Bengaluru campus and service centres. It keeps the engineering precision of the US original while adding the proof Indian buyers look for: state PWDs and NHAI references, testimonials from Indian contractors and a conference in Bengaluru.

Brand adaptation

The same Bhumika Geo, with a local accent

Indigo carries the interface and marigold brings festive warmth to italics, with a brighter marigold on dark panels. Poppins and Mukta both include Devanagari, so a Hindi edition can follow without a new type system. The descriptor becomes India, the usual term in Indian infrastructure branding.

Homepage and key journeys

The homepage opens with a full-bleed hero over an Indian cityscape and the coordinates 12.9716° N · 77.5946° E. The search asks for a product, industry or project. One system, twelve markets

Every visible string lives in one file per market, and every colour and typeface in one theme file. This edition needed no new templates or components: a strings file, a theme, regional photography and local legal content made it a different brand experience. For a civic-tech company with international plans, a new market becomes a content project rather than a rebuild.

Deliverables

  • Market profile: language, formats, legal and seasonality
  • Full localised copy across 8 templates, header, footer and forms
  • Brand adaptation: palette, type pairing and logo descriptor
  • 37 regional photographs (Pexels, credited in credits.json)
  • Local legal content
  • Accessibility pass (WCAG 2.2 AA, automated) and QA at four screen widths
  • Portfolio media: stills, full-page captures, scroll video, OG image, brand board
