Bulbul Singapore is the localised edition of our US business-banking case study. It speaks Singapore finance: current accounts, SDIC deposit insurance, MAS-licensed money-market funds, Singapore Government Securities (T-bills), FAST transfers, UEN and GST. The brand stays calm and premium, but the interface turns tropical: glass, greenery and a utility-first layout for founders who would rather be building.

The brief
One city-state, one financial language
Singapore is a city-state with its own banking vocabulary. The US edition's checking accounts become current accounts, wires become transfers, and deposit insurance is stated as SDIC coverage up to S$5M. Treasury copy names MAS-licensed money-market funds and Singapore Government Securities (T-bills). The site is built for Singapore Pte Ltds, LLPs and sole proprietorships, with UEN and GST in the footer and a Data Protection Officer for the PDPA. Copy is efficient and benefit-first, with British spelling and no Singlish in brand voice.

Brand adaptation
The same Bulbul, with a local accent
Tropical green carries the interface and coral adds warmth to italics, with a lighter coral on dark panels. Plus Jakarta Sans brings a modern, geometric feel to headlines; Inter keeps the interface clear and readable. The descriptor becomes Singapore.

Homepage and key journeys
A glassy hero shows a live balance card with a growth chart and recent transactions in S$. The homepage then walks through current accounts, corporate cards, treasury and payments, each with a two-column section and proof points. The most distinctive flow is the startup runway calculator, which updates live as you type and shows months of runway, net monthly burn and the date cash runs out, with a colour-graded meter and plain-English advice.

Compliance, accessibility and trust
- Privacy policy under the PDPA, with a Data Protection Officer and customer due diligence.
- Footer with demo UEN 202612345A and DPO contact dpo@kestrel.example.
- Sample text for a fictional company; Bulbul is a portfolio concept and offers no services.
- Passes automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on every page at 360, 390, 768 and 1440 px: no contrast failures, no unreachable controls, no horizontal scrolling.
- A language switcher built from
hreflangsits in the header on desktop and in the footer on phones.
One system, twelve markets
Every visible string lives in one file per market, and every colour and typeface in one theme file. This edition needed no new templates or components: a strings file, a theme, regional photography and local legal content made it a different brand experience. For a fintech company with international plans, a new market becomes a content project rather than a rebuild.
