Gridwise Singapore — civic tech website design for an infrastructure software firm
Gridwise Singapore is the Singapore edition of our fictional civil engineering and geospatial software company, headquartered in the CBD at Tanjong Pagar.

Gridwise Singapore is the Singapore edition of our fictional civil engineering and geospatial software company, headquartered in the CBD at Tanjong Pagar. It shares every template with the US edition but reads as a Singapore firm: LTA and PUB instead of state DOTs, Jurong and Tampines project sites, PDPA consent and a palette taken from glass towers and tropical greenery.
Project facts
- Client: Gridwise Pte Ltd, Singapore (fictional)
- Sector: Civil engineering, heavy civil construction and geospatial software
- Markets: Singapore headquarters with projects island-wide, from Jurong to Tampines
- Services: Market localisation · Copywriting · Brand adaptation · Civic tech website design · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) · SEO foundations
- Templates: 8 page templates shared with every Gridwise edition
- Stack: Hand-built HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript; one strings file and one theme file per market
The brief
An infrastructure site that speaks the language of LTA and PUB
The risk for a Singapore edition is reading like an American contractor with a new phone number. Gridwise Singapore swaps every agency, place and process: road and rail work answers to the LTA, water to PUB, funding comes through budget approvals rather than bond measures, and consent follows the PDPA and the DNC Registry.

Designing for Singapore
What actually changed between the US and this edition
- Headquarters — US edition: Golden, Colorado · Singapore: Tanjong Pagar, Singapore
- Projects — US edition: I-70 Corridor, Juniper Valley, Cedar River Crossing · Singapore: Jurong, Tampines and island-wide LTA and PUB works
- Institutions — US edition: State DOTs, OSHA, EPA, FEMA · Singapore: LTA, PUB, MOM workplace safety, NEA
- Funding — US edition: Bond measures · Singapore: Budget and funding approvals
- Currency — US edition: US dollars · Singapore: Singapore dollars
- Legal — US edition: US state privacy rights · Singapore: PDPA 2012 and the DNC Registry
- Look — US edition: Forest ink, concrete paper, survey orange; Fraunces + Public Sans · Singapore: Tropical green, white glass, coral signal; Plus Jakarta Sans + Inter, large radii

Brand adaptation
The same Gridwise, with a local accent
Tropical green carries the interface on crisp white, with a coral signal for actions and a deep jungle green for dark panels; every pairing passes WCAG AA. Plus Jakarta Sans gives headlines a modern, efficient voice and Inter keeps data, forms and tables plain. Corners are generous, in line with Singapore's utility-forward digital services. The survey crosshair wordmark is unchanged.

Homepage and key journeys
The homepage opens on Singapore infrastructure with the Span platform pitch restated for LTA and PUB programmes. Proof points and the stories carousel move to Jurong and Tampines projects, and the region selector swaps every place, price and agency from one configuration file without leaving the shared design system.

Compliance, accessibility and trust
- Privacy notice under the PDPA 2012 naming Gridwise Pte Ltd as the organisation responsible, with DNC Registry handling for calls and messages.
- Software terms in Singapore dollars, governed by Singapore law.
- Footer with a Singapore company line and UEN; no US state privacy rights or US regulators.
- Passes automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on every page at 360, 390, 768 and 1440 px: no contrast failures, no unreachable controls, no horizontal scrolling.
- A language switcher built from
hreflangsits in the header on desktop and in the footer on phones.
One system, twelve markets
Every visible string lives in one file per market, and every colour and typeface in one theme file. This edition needed no new templates or components: a strings file, a theme, regional photography and local legal content made it a different brand experience. For a civic-tech company with international plans, a new market becomes a content project rather than a rebuild.

FAQ
How is a Singapore civic tech website different from a US one?
Agencies become the LTA and PUB, prices are in Singapore dollars, consent follows the PDPA and DNC Registry, and project stories move to Jurong and Tampines.
Can one design system serve Singapore and the US?
Yes. Gridwise shares templates across editions; Singapore inherits British spelling and overrides places, agencies, currency and legal copy.
