Mimpi Singapore: AI Fashion E-Commerce Website Design

Mimpi Singapore is the localised edition of our AI personal stylist case study. It keeps the conversational shopping experience, the virtual try-on and the editorial brand, but speaks Singapore: prices in S$ with 9% GST, addresses with postal codes, PDPA rights and a Data Protection Officer, and a palette of glass and greenery. The copy uses British spelling and local references, from Sentosa weddings to Bali weekends.

Project facts

  • Client: Mimpi Pte Ltd (fictional)
  • Sector: Fashion and luxury e-commerce, AI personal styling
  • Markets: Singapore, with a locale layer ready for new markets
  • Services: Market localisation · Copywriting · Brand adaptation · Fashion e-commerce website design · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) · SEO foundations
  • Templates: 42 page templates shared with every Mimpi edition
  • Stack: Hand-built HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript; one strings file and one theme file per market

The brief

One conversation, local currency

Singapore shoppers expect speed, clarity and a brand that respects their data. The US case study already had a locale layer; for this edition we set the language to en-GB spelling, the currency to SGD with S$ and 9% GST, and the legal pages to the PDPA. The brand voice stays editorial and warm, with no Singlish in the interface. Occasions shift to local ones: a Sentosa wedding in June, a week in Bali, a weekend in Desaru. The result is a fashion discovery platform that feels at home in Singapore without losing the magazine feel.

Brand adaptation

The same Mimpi, with a local accent

The Singapore edition swaps the cool grey canvas for a mist green background and keeps white paper for content. Terracotta replaces raspberry as the accent, with a warm sand secondary and blush and sage tints for panels. Young Serif brings a soft editorial voice to headlines; Plus Jakarta Sans, designed in Southeast Asia, keeps the interface modern and legible. The wordmark stays Mimpi.

Homepage and key journeys

The homepage opens with a Duxton Hill archway and the conversational composer. The stylist method (Explore, Chat, Save, Refine) is illustrated with local prompts such as “Easy layers for a week in Bali” and “Saved to Weekend in Desaru”. The occasions grid leads with a Botanic Gardens wedding in May and a Phuket vacation wardrobe. The most distinctive flow is the composer: type a request, get an editorial reply with shoppable cards, then refine with one tap. Prices are in S$ and include GST.

Compliance, accessibility and trust

  • Privacy policy under Singapore’s PDPA 2012, with a Data Protection Officer and PDPA rights to access, correct and withdraw consent.
  • Terms of Service governed by Singapore law, with binding individual arbitration except where the Small Claims Tribunals apply.
  • Footer with demo UEN, registered address at 1 Raffles Place and DPO contact.
  • Passes automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on every page at 360, 390, 768 and 1440 px: no contrast failures, no unreachable controls, no horizontal scrolling.
  • A language switcher built from hreflang sits in the header on desktop and in the footer on phones.

One system, twelve markets

Every visible string lives in one file per market, and every colour and typeface in one theme file. This edition needed no new templates or components: a strings file, a theme, regional photography and local legal content made it a different brand experience. For a fashion label with international plans, a new market becomes a content project rather than a rebuild.

Deliverables

  • Market profile: language, formats, legal and seasonality
  • Full localised copy across 42 templates, header, footer and forms
  • Brand adaptation: palette, type pairing and logo descriptor
  • 39 regional photographs (Pexels, credited in credits.json)
  • Local legal content
  • Accessibility pass (WCAG 2.2 AA, automated) and QA at four screen widths
  • Portfolio media: stills, full-page captures, scroll video, OG image, brand board

FAQ

How do you localise a fashion e-commerce site for Singapore?

Use S$ pricing with 9% GST, local addresses with postal codes, PDPA-compliant privacy and a Data Protection Officer, British spelling, and occasions that match Singapore life such as Sentosa weddings and Bali weekends.

Can the AI stylist handle local currency and sizing?

Yes. The locale layer sets SGD formatting and the product pages show prices in S$ with free shipping and returns. Sizing follows the brand’s own charts, with model measurements in centimetres.

Does the site meet Singapore privacy rules?

The privacy policy is written for the PDPA, lists PDPA rights and names a Data Protection Officer. Consent and data-use language is plain and specific.
