Zenith Australia: Entertainment Website Design for a Shared-Reality Venue Brand

Zenith builds 27-metre LED domes where live sports, concert films, immersive cinema and light art wrap around a room full of people. We were asked to create an immersive venue website that feels as cinematic as the dome experience itself and still sells tickets in a few taps. For Australia, we kept the cinematic system but flipped it to a sun-bleached, outdoorsy palette, swapped US cities for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and priced everything in AUD including GST.

Project facts

  • Client: Zenith Entertainment Pty Ltd (fictional)
  • Sector: Location-based entertainment, sports and live events
  • Markets: Sydney (flagship, Surry Hills), Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast (Burleigh Heads, opening soon)
  • Services: Market localisation · Copywriting · Brand adaptation · Entertainment venue website design · Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) · SEO foundations
  • Templates: 7 page templates shared with every Zenith edition
  • Stack: Hand-built HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript; one strings file and one theme file per market

The brief

An Australian night out, not an American one

Australia shares the same appetite for big-screen sport and shared spectacle, but the details are different: prices in AUD including GST, distances in metres and kilometres, seasons flipped so summer is December to February, and a footer that acknowledges Traditional Custodians. The venue names had to feel local too, so the US neighbourhoods became Surry Hills, Richmond, Fortitude Valley and Burleigh Heads. The result is a site that still feels like the moment the house lights go down, but with an Australian accent.

Brand adaptation

The same Zenith, with a local accent

The Australian edition keeps the cinematic display serif and characterful grotesque but swaps the after-dark palette for a high-key cream base, deep ocean ink and a sun-bleached ember accent. The logo mark is unchanged: concentric arcs that suggest a dome, a horizon and a sound wave. The voice stays confident, warm and a little cheeky, with Australian spelling (-ise) and metric units throughout.

Homepage and key journeys

The homepage opens on a full-bleed hero with a slow cinematic push-in and live stats (27-metre dome, spatial sound, guest numbers), then hands visitors to This week under the dome: a drag-to-scroll event rail with date badges and prices in AUD. Category tiles cover live sports watch parties, concert film experiences, immersive cinema, and immersive art and light shows. A dome showcase with an arched image frame mirrors the venue shape. The distinctive Australian flow is the venue switcher: a compact city rail (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast) that updates the event rail and showtimes in place, with the Gold Coast showing a waitlist state until Burleigh Heads opens.

Compliance, accessibility and trust

  • Privacy policy under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, with the OAIC complaint route and Spam Act 2003 consent for marketing.
  • Footer: © 2026 Zenith Entertainment Pty Ltd. ABN [demo]. Acknowledge Traditional Custodians; include Privacy policy, Terms and Accessibility pages.
  • Pricing displayed in AUD including GST.
  • Passes automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on every page at 360, 390, 768 and 1440 px: no contrast failures, no unreachable controls, no horizontal scrolling.
  • A language switcher built from hreflang sits in the header on desktop and in the footer on phones.

One system, twelve markets

Every visible string lives in one file per market, and every colour and typeface in one theme file. This edition needed no new templates or components: a strings file, a theme, regional photography and local legal content made it a different brand experience. For an entertainment venue group with international plans, a new market becomes a content project rather than a rebuild.

Deliverables

  • Market profile: language, formats, legal and seasonality
  • Full localised copy across 7 templates, header, footer and forms
  • Brand adaptation: palette, type pairing and logo descriptor
  • 30 regional photographs (Pexels, credited in credits.json)
  • Local legal content
  • Accessibility pass (WCAG 2.2 AA, automated) and QA at four screen widths
  • Portfolio media: stills, full-page captures, scroll video, OG image, brand board

FAQ

What makes an Australian entertainment website different?

Prices in AUD including GST, metric measurements, southern-hemisphere seasonality, Australian privacy law (Privacy Act 1988 and APPs), and a footer that acknowledges Traditional Custodians.

Can the same design system work across Australia and the US?

Yes. The Australian edition reuses the same eight templates and seven content blocks, with a localised theme (high-key cream, ocean blue, sun-bleached ember) and a content layer that swaps cities, currency and legal copy.

How do you handle venue launches in new cities?

Each city gets its own venue hub built from one template. The Gold Coast page, for example, shows a waitlist state until Burleigh Heads opens, then switches to full booking.
